These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the Watchdog Alarms website and to products and services purchased from Watchdog Alarms, including through our online store.
Watchdog Alarms is operated by Watchdog Alarms Pty Ltd (ABN 65 603 879 438).
By placing an order, purchasing a product or service, or using this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. Products and Services
Watchdog Alarms supplies security and related products and services, which may include:
alarm systems and components;
CCTV cameras, recorders and accessories;
access control and intercom equipment;
security communications equipment;
installation, servicing and maintenance;
alarm and CCTV monitoring services;
cloud-based and mobile-app services; and
related security products and accessories.
The availability of individual products and services may change from time to time.
2. Online Orders
When you submit an online order, you are offering to purchase the products shown in your order at the displayed price.
An automated order confirmation acknowledges that we have received your order. It does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted or dispatched.
We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch where, for example:
a product is unavailable;
there has been a genuine pricing or listing error;
we cannot reasonably supply the order;
payment has not been authorised; or
we reasonably believe the transaction may be fraudulent or unauthorised.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled item or order.
3. Pricing
Unless clearly stated otherwise, prices displayed to consumers are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable.
Delivery charges and any optional products or services will be shown before the order is completed.
We take reasonable care to ensure pricing and product information is accurate. If we discover a genuine error before an order has been supplied, we will contact you and give you the option of proceeding at the correct price or cancelling the affected item for a refund.
4. Product Information
We make reasonable efforts to ensure product descriptions, specifications and images are accurate.
Manufacturers may revise product appearance, packaging, firmware or specifications from time to time.
Any substitution that materially changes the product ordered will not be made without your agreement.
Product images are provided to help identify products but should be read together with the written product description and specifications.
5. Compatibility and Product Selection
Security products can have specific compatibility, programming, firmware, frequency, installation and system requirements.
If you select a product without seeking advice from Watchdog Alarms, you are responsible for checking that it is suitable for your particular system and intended application.
If you are unsure whether a product is compatible, please contact us before ordering.
Where you tell Watchdog Alarms the purpose for which you require a product and reasonably rely on our advice, nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Installation and Programming
Some security equipment requires professional installation, programming or commissioning.
Unless installation is expressly included in the product or service purchased, the purchase price relates to the equipment only.
Where Watchdog Alarms provides installation or other onsite services, the specific scope of work, equipment, price and any exclusions shown in the applicable quotation or work order form part of the agreement.
Any material variation to the agreed work will be discussed with you before additional work is undertaken or additional charges are incurred.
Customers must provide reasonable access to the premises and any existing equipment required for us to carry out the agreed work.
7. Existing Equipment
Where Watchdog Alarms connects new equipment to an existing alarm, CCTV, network, cabling, electrical or other system, the operation of that existing equipment may be outside our control.
We are not responsible for a defect or failure to the extent it is caused by pre-existing faulty, incompatible, damaged or incorrectly installed equipment that we did not supply or install.
If we identify an issue with existing equipment that affects the work, we will advise you where reasonably practicable.
8. Security Systems and Limitations
Alarm systems, CCTV systems and other security products are designed to reduce security risks and assist in detecting, recording or responding to events.
No security system can guarantee that burglary, theft, property damage, personal injury or another event will not occur.
The effectiveness of a security system may depend on factors including correct use, maintenance, communications services, power supply, network connectivity, cellular coverage and third-party services.
This section does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Monitoring, Mobile Apps and Cloud Services
Some products can operate with monitoring, cellular communications, cloud storage, mobile applications or other recurring services.
These services may be provided partly or entirely using third-party networks, monitoring centres, telecommunications providers, software platforms or cloud services.
Separate service terms, monitoring agreements, subscription conditions or charges may apply.
Where a separate agreement applies to a monitoring or subscription service, that agreement will govern that service to the extent of any inconsistency with these general Terms & Conditions.
Monitoring and connected services may be affected by circumstances outside Watchdog Alarms' reasonable control, including telecommunications outages, internet outages, cellular network availability, power failures and third-party service interruptions.
10. Customer Accounts and System Credentials
You are responsible for keeping passwords, PINs, user codes, account credentials and other security information associated with your equipment or online account secure.
You should notify Watchdog Alarms promptly if you believe an account or security credential has been compromised and our assistance is required.
11. Delivery
Delivery options and charges are shown during checkout where applicable.
Any delivery or dispatch timeframe provided is an estimate unless we expressly agree otherwise.
We will make reasonable efforts to dispatch orders within the stated timeframe and will contact you if we become aware of a material delay.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
12. Returns and Refunds
Returns, change-of-mind requests, faulty products and refunds are dealt with under our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in our Returns & Refunds Policy or these Terms & Conditions affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
13. Consumer Guarantees
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law where those guarantees apply.
Among other guarantees, goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for any applicable disclosed purpose and match their description.
Services must be supplied with due care and skill and, where applicable, be fit for their disclosed purpose and supplied within a reasonable time.
If a product or service fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund, re-supply of services, compensation or another remedy depending on the circumstances.
14. Manufacturer Warranties
Some products may also carry a manufacturer's warranty.
A manufacturer's warranty is additional to, and does not replace, any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Warranty periods and conditions can vary by manufacturer and product.
15. Damage Caused by Incorrect Installation or Use
Watchdog Alarms is not responsible for a problem to the extent it is caused by:
incorrect installation by someone other than Watchdog Alarms;
unauthorised modification;
incorrect programming;
use contrary to the manufacturer's instructions;
incompatible equipment supplied by another party;
accidental or deliberate damage; or
circumstances unrelated to a defect in the product or services supplied by Watchdog Alarms.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Technical Information and Support
We may provide product documentation, technical information, installation information or general support through our website, by telephone, electronically or otherwise.
Technical information should be used in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable laws, standards and licensing requirements.
Certain security, electrical, telecommunications or cabling work may need to be performed by an appropriately licensed or registered person.
17. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at the time of purchase or in accordance with the terms shown on an accepted quotation or invoice.
For account customers, any separately agreed credit terms will apply.
We may suspend further supply to an account customer while an undisputed amount remains overdue, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement between us.
18. Third-Party Products and Services
Some equipment and services supplied by Watchdog Alarms rely on products, software or services provided by third parties.
Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, licence conditions or subscription requirements.
Where you activate or use a third-party service, you may also be required to agree to the provider's applicable terms.
19. Website Use
You may use this website for lawful purposes, including obtaining information about Watchdog Alarms and purchasing our products and services.
You must not knowingly:
interfere with the operation or security of the website;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or accounts;
introduce malicious software or code;
use automated systems to interfere with the website's normal operation; or

20. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the content created by Watchdog Alarms on this website, including text, graphics, branding, website design and original photographs, is owned by or licensed to Watchdog Alarms.
Manufacturer names, logos, product images and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
You may view and use the website for your own legitimate purposes but may not reproduce or commercially exploit our proprietary content without permission.
21. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability arising under applicable provisions of the Australian Consumer Law.
To the extent permitted by law, Watchdog Alarms is not responsible for loss or damage to the extent caused by:
misuse of a product;
failure to follow operating or maintenance instructions;
unauthorised modification or installation;
incompatible third-party equipment;
telecommunications, internet, electrical or other third-party infrastructure failure outside our reasonable control; or
an act or omission of another person for whom Watchdog Alarms is not legally responsible.
Any limitation in these Terms & Conditions is to be read only to the extent permitted by law.
22. Privacy
Personal information collected through our website or in connection with our products and services is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
23. Separate Quotations and Agreements
A quotation, proposal, monitoring agreement, service agreement, work order or other written agreement provided by Watchdog Alarms may contain additional terms relating to a particular product or service.
Those specific terms form part of the agreement for that transaction.
If there is an inconsistency, the specifically agreed terms will apply to that particular product or service, subject always to rights that cannot legally be excluded.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The terms applying to an order or service are generally those in effect when the relevant transaction or agreement is entered into, unless a change is required by law or subsequently agreed with you.
The current version will be available on our website.
25. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia.
Nothing in this section limits any right a consumer may have to bring a claim in another jurisdiction where applicable law permits them to do so.
